Is running a practice getting harder? Or are we looking in the wrong direction??
In my conversations with practice owners in the last few years, a theme has been emerging, especially among those in the business for more than 20 years.
I frequently hear that things have changed:
there’s more competition,
marketing has become more techy and complicated,
things haven’t bounced back since the pandemic,
associates don’t want to work as hard.
Things have changed... although some not as quickly as I’d like. Raise a hand if you’d like to ban skinny jeans, anyone with me? 🙋♂️👖
There have undeniably been huge changes and enormous challenges for practice owners.
At times like this, though, it can be helpful, David, to focus on what hasn’t changed AND what’s NOT going to change in the next 10 years.
People are still going to experience injuries and conditions that you can help with... which is why you started your practice in the first place, right? In fact, there are more people than ever paying for treatment, despite the cost of living crisis, due to the pressure on public health services.
That certainty of demand is stable and not going anywhere. The things that have changed all thankfully have solutions. 🛠️
Is there more competition in your area? Then it’s time to focus on Google and spend some time considering why patients should choose you. Next, make sure that’s really clear on your website.
Struggling with the techy side of marketing? Outsourcing means you don’t have to figure this stuff out yourself. Alternatively, concentrating on amplifying what is already working for your practice, can often be a quicker win than tackling a whole new marketing method 🎯
Struggling with team performance? Focusing on gaining the skills to bring the best out of your team will set you free 🌟
